Bikini Crush

If I could have a separate closet for bikinis alone, I would. Well, if money grew on trees also :)
Either way, I am totally crushing on these bikinis right now.

This one from Acacia is the perfect bikini to make you feel girly and soak up the sun.

This bikini made by Maaji Swimwear is just perfect. The bold prints, the bright colors, how could anyone be wearing this and not have a huge smile on their face?! The best part about Maaji, their separates are about $60 each, which is pretty reasonable in the world of overly priced designer bikinis these days!

I'm sure I'll have plenty more bikini crushes to come :)

Until next time,

DIY Studded Shorts

Im sure if you are reading this, you have at least one pair of old jeans lying around that you NEVER wear anymore. But, since they still fit, and are still cute, you just can't seem to get rid of them. This week I bring you a little DIY, using those old pants/jeans/shorts!

First, get the needed supplies. Old jeans, fabric scissors, pyramid studs (can be found at a craft/fabric store for around $4) and a knife.

Cut your jeans to desired length. Try them on first and mark with a pen before cutting (since we are also fraying the ends, add an extra 1/4 inch so they don't become toooo short)

Flip them over and start laying your pyramid studs where you desire. The pronged studs are super easy to use! You simple poke them into the back pocket (or wherever you desire placing them) and fold the prongs inward.

Fraying the jeans is a super easy technique, that a lot of people don't do! Sometimes, just washing them can make them start to fray, but this is the technique that works best in my opinion. Take a serrated knife and gently run it back and forth along the bottom of the jeans. You can do it as much or as little as you want, depending on preference.

And there you have it! For less than $4, you just transformed a useless pair of pants into the perfect pair of beach shorts :)

DIY Valentines Headband

While trying to brainstorm some new ideas for my Etsy shop, I stumbled upon some left over materials and decided to create something just for fun. And what do you know, it is the perfect accessory for Valentines Day. No matter what your plans!

Materials Needed:

Step 1: Cut off the back stems of the flowers to make them more flat. Also, cut your leather strip the desired length. I measured it on my head and left some room on the ends to tie.

Step 2: Once you have cut the flowers and leather, lay out your headband. Start lining up the flowers from the CENTER point of the leather and work your way outwards. This will ensure that you headband is even.

Step 3: Start gluing. I just used a hot glue gun to make the process faster.

And there you have it! Your very own floral crown headband. The perfect accesory for Valentine's day or that upcoming music festival you're attending.

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! Lots of love,
XO

The Most Important Meal

FACT: One of my least favorite meals of the day is breakfast.... If I could just skip straight to lunch all the time I would be a happy girl. However, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and a healthy breakfast is the key to looking your best. Here is my alternative......

Strawberry Banana Meal Shake

Ingredients:

  • Strawberry flavored meal replacement. There are a lot of options out there, I use Shakeology.
  • Half a banana
  • Handful of spinach
  • Non fat honey Greek yogurt
  • Ice and water

And there you have it! These baby's keep me full all morning and you are getting a ton of nutrients. And they take like 2 minutes to make.

Until next time, XO
